Beachy Head

Beachy Head is a headland situated in East Sussex, 3 miles to the West of Eastbourne and 1.8 miles East of Birling Gap.

Beachy Head has the highest chalk cliffs in Britain which rise to a total of 162 metres of 531 feet above Sea Level.

You will find the Beachy Head Hotel and restaurant which offers good pub grub and a place to refresh yourself whilst walking in the area.

You will also find the Beachy Head Story visitor centre with a shop and exhibition centre telling you more about the history of the area.

From the edge of the cliff you can see the Beachy Head Lighthouse which is still an operational light station and has been serving mariners since the 2nd October 1902.

Please stay well away from the cliff edge as erosion is a constant process and there could be a cliff fall at any time.
